Max was a German Shepherd who found his way to me after being evicted from a series of homes for a wide variety of reasons. The main reason: He was supposed to be my dog. The problem: I was a cat person. I didn't want a dog. But Max had a mission. And that is another story.
Through Max, I met a veterinarian who offered alternative treatments on pets. (Acupuncture and Chiropractic) He was exceptionally successful with dogs who were recognized as world class athletes. Max required special treatment due to hip discomfort and received energy therapy, including use of magnets.
I saw results. Because of my radio background, we teamed up for a radio show with the intent to provide both the alternative (my intuitive) view and the traditional view (veterinarian) of pet care. It was called Dr. Randy's Pet Sense and was, at that time, the most successful launch of a weekend show on *KMBZ Newsradio 980AM. (*Re: KMBZ Program Director Brian Wilson.)
I owe a great thanks to my girlfriend. In spring of 2002, late May, because the show debuted in June, she helped me create the name PetSense for the web domain and the show name. We wanted a name that would also have meaning if it were used in a sentence. When we started putting names out there (brainstorming), we discovered two highly recognizable words that worked together and actually created a description of what we were trying to communicate.
The show was about pets. The use of that newly created word would convey that we all have an innate ability to connect information about our companion animals, and indeed, all animals in what might be considered by some an unorthodox method - 6th Sense.
That sealed the deal. PetSense is an ability to gain useful information or insight about animals in an unconventional or alternative manner. It is the ability to intuit a communication from the animal.
As fate would have it, the name was available! It was in use by a magazine but it was in Canada; and as two words by an equine product company in Arizona. But PetSense was a first! The web domain was open in 5/2002 and registered in 7/2002! We were thrilled. I contacted Outdoor Resources after a huge fiasco with another web developer who took thousands without delivering a product. With a wonderful result, the new site was born, offering information, services and content devoted to helping people and pets. The site also included a shopping cart for ECommerce. Since that time, I have been the admin and content provider for the site.
The name was registered in July of 2002 and incorporated into the name of a veterinary practice. That practice, registered since 2001 in Kansas, was thriving in 2005, when the retail company, Petsen$e, opened for business in Colorado.
At some point, late in 2005, I took a call and an email about job openings and had no idea what was going on. However, I did some research and discovered another company had been formed using our/the name I had created, my name. It didn't register at that time that I would have to defend my position of choosing to retain a site I had created prior to the formation of a duplicate corporation who would choose to try to force me to relinquish it. Thus, the content on the WIPO site.
PetSense.com is here for those who cherish their animal connections in mind, body and spirit. We share more than just the physical contact. Stories that validate that statement are growing more commonplace. And I am here to advocate for and share them. We are growing into our ANIMAL intelligence: PetSense.
And who am I? - I am a Creator, Intuitive, Lightworker, Author, Artist, Broadcaster, Writer, Blogger, Animal lover. Animal Companions are constantly guiding, teaching, loving and leading us to a higher plane. They are our saving Grace.
As part of the conscious and divine awakening I underwent with the nightlight experience, I became aware of greater intuitive connections with the animals in my life. I have had and continue to have tremendous shamanic experiences with animals and others. The first of great influence in my life involved a very special dog.
I was told, intuitively, that I would be joined by an other and it was to be an important connection. I could not imagine what other meant and expected a human to fill the role. That "other" was Max, an extraordinary soul who taught me so much about what I had yet to learn about animals...and humans/people. Animals are here to teach us -- not the other way around. Who we are is revealed through our actions toward them.
If and when we so desire, we become aware of a conscious connection to animals in spirit that is much larger than our awareness of it in this space and time; and it is evolving as we do. How we treat our pets and the animals with whom we share this beautiful planet says a lot about who we are and what we can hope to achieve as a human race.Thank you for checking in.
